DESCRIPTION:DATE: May 19 – 23 \nCOURSE LOAD: 5 days (40 hours) \nDESCRIPTION: \nThis 40-hour course focus on emergencies involving hazardous materials. \nStudents will learn: \n\nChemistry and toxicology of hazardous materials\nDangerous properties of chemicals\nUse of detection instruments\nDecontamination\nSelection of use of chemical protective clothing with hands-on practice.\n\nThis course meets the training requirement of the NFPA 470 standard\, version 2022\, Level A\, B and C CPC\nTrained;“ Chapter 10 of NFPA 472\, Chapter 11 of NFPA 1072\, OSHA standard 29 cfr. 1910.120 (q)(6)(iii) for Hazardous Materials Technicians and ARTC Programs.\nThe course is 20% classroom and 80% field work. \nPRE-REQUISITES: None
