The Ambition 2030 event will bring together the country’s top CEOs and sustainability experts<\/strong>
The UN Global Compact Network Brazil will host the Ambition 2030 event next Monday (25), marking the launch of the agency’s strategy for the coming years. The initiative will bring together the main CEOs and leaders of the Brazilian private sector at the Rosewood hotel, in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo. Jeffrey Sachs, an American economist specializing in sustainable development, Sanda Ojiambo, CEO of the UN Global Compact, and Silvia Rucks, coordinator of the UN System in Brazil, also confirmed their presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambition 2030 is a Global Compact initiative to promote business engagement with specific initiatives, action recommendations, goals and commitments on climate change, human rights, workers’ mental health, water management, and gender and racial equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need to build ambitious goals for the future, but also for now. We know that the Brazilian private sector is increasingly engaged and we count on businesswomen and entrepreneurs in this construction of goals and concrete actions so that we reach the Sustainable Development Goals \u201d, said Carlo Pereira, executive director of Rede Brasil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Rafael Tello, sustainability director at Ambipar, helping in this challenge is to promote the ESG agenda in favor of the SDGs. \u201cWe understand that collective and ambitious action to achieve the SDGs in Brazil is urgent. That’s why we started this partnership with the support of this event, which is a great call to the main business leaders in the country to work together to make Brazil a global leader in promoting a low carbon circular economy, generating much needed income and jobs. for our population\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dinner also marks the opening of the Matarazzo Ballroom, the space for social and corporate events at Rosewood S\u00e3o Paulo. The event is supported by Ampibar, the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Brasil).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
