There is an overview of the various techniques used in preventing operational spills and deploying substance appropriate response equipment. The course addresses the key steps in both preparedness and response, detailing considerations regarding; planning, legislation, causation, notification, health and safety, response, demobilisation and post-spill actions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TARGET AUDIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>First Responders<\/li><li>Any one who requires a basic understanding of spill response and preparedness<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COURSE OBJECTIVES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide a grounded understanding of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The potential implications of an operational spill<\/li><li>The types and causation of operational spillages<\/li><li>The importance of spill planning and preparedness<\/li><li>The role of spill response and the equipment and options available<\/li><li>Health and Safety considerations (PPE)<\/li><li>The procedure for responding to a spill<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRACTICAL SESSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The course contains a practical element and in order to pass, the course attendees are required to take a full and active part in the deployment exercise.
