{"id":3750,"date":"2021-04-23T16:04:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T19:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambipar.com\/uk\/?post_type=noticia&#038;p=3750"},"modified":"2022-02-14T14:32:15","modified_gmt":"2022-02-14T14:32:15","slug":"spill-response-training-shetland-islands","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/ambipar.com\/uk\/news\/spill-response-training-shetland-islands\/","title":{"rendered":"Spill Response Training  Shetland Islands"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Training this March was held in the Shetland Islands, to assist the Maritime and Coast Guard Agency (MCA) in delivering their regional Spill Response Familiarisation course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Day 1 \u2013 Theory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theory was conducted inside with a presentation given on multiple topics of Oil Spill Response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boom configurations for different scenarios were discussed, weighing up the pros and cons of each layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chains of command including how to activate the MCA counter pollution branch, the role of the Tactical Coordination Group and government protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Day 2 \u2013 Practical<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This part is where the delegates could get hands-on with the equipment, giving them a chance to set up containment, recovery and storage equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The practical event was completed with no issues, and everything was loaded back onto the lorry; just in time for the ferry back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3756,"template":"","categories":[260,206],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v16.9 -
