During a pre-COP 29 event held by CNN, Helder Barbalho once again defended the carbon market as a tool to attract financing, combat environmental crimes, and promote actions to recover the Amazon biome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Helder Barbalho participated on the evening of Monday (04) in the CNN Talks: Expectations for the Climate Summit, focused on COP 29, which takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22. The event was held in S\u00e3o Paulo. On the occasion, Helder Barbalho once again defended the carbon market as a tool to attract financing to combat environmental crimes and actions to recover the Amazon biome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moderator was journalist Willian Waac, and alongside Helder Barbalho, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, the president of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), Rodrigo Agostinho, the governor of Amap\u00e1, Cl\u00e9cio Lu\u00eds, and the Vice President of Sustainability at Ambipar, a global leader in environmental solutions, Rafael Tello, also participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The State of Par\u00e1, a month ago, made the largest jurisdictional carbon trade in Brazil’s history, with the monetization of R$ 1 billion, from credits certified by international certifiers. This is a success case of a new resource vision,” pondered Helder Barbalho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Par\u00e1 is on the right track. We have made a tremendous effort to reduce deforestation,” added the president of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), Rodrigo Agostinho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the Par\u00e1 state executive branch reaffirmed that Par\u00e1 will apply the carbon credit resources in a judicious manner aimed at the forest people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
