Heavy floods affected the east and south of Spain. In just a few hours, some areas received the equivalent of a year’s worth of rainfall, causing widespread flooding. Ambipar (AMBP3), a global leader in environmental solutions, is actively involved in the flood emergency response in the region through Ambipar Response. The company has deployed local teams to operate in affected cities, such as Valencia.
The company has already deployed two heavy trucks with trailers, two AT cranes, a fire truck with a special submerged hydraulic pump, in addition to five light vehicles in Cartagena and Castellón. Also involved are 24 divers, on-site response personnel (OSR), and an inspection of the affected areas, including site reconnaissance using drones.
This week, a command post and a maintenance station were set up with four designated personnel, as well as the mobilization of six people from the United Kingdom and Ireland, and 16 people from Spain. Two light AT vehicles, two 8×8 ATVs, a jet ski, and a boat (along with two drones from the UK) will be used. By the end of the week, Ambipar will have a team of approximately 54 people and 32 vehicles.
Other initiatives include the establishment of a command post and a maintenance station with pumps to drain water and diving equipment. The company will continue this operation throughout the year, assisting the Spanish government in addressing the effects of what has been deemed the storm of the century.
