Do not panic! Accident involving a truck, van, and three more vehicles will happen in the Capital in a new emergency drill

Don’t be alarmed if, on the morning of Friday (06), you witness a terrible traffic accident on Avenida Gury Marques, at the height of the Campo Grande beltway, at kilometer 466 of federal highway BR-163.

The location will be the stage for the 9th Hazardous Material and Multiple Victims Accident Drill, and as part of the action, an accident involving five vehicles will be simulated, including a truck loaded with hazardous material.

The exercise starts at 9 am and will involve the participation of traffic and rescue institutions. The objective is to train and capacitate teams to work together efficiently in possible occurrences of this complexity.

In the simulation, the tanker truck will be transporting diesel and will collide with a van and three other passenger vehicles, causing an oil leak and leaving a total of 15 victims, including two fatalities, three serious, two moderate, and eight mild.

The participants in the drill will be students from the Nursing courses at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), UCDB, and also Unigran.

The victims will be attended to by ambulances from CCR MSVia, in conjunction with rescue vehicles from the Fire Department, SAMU, and the Military Police helicopter.

The CCR MS Via concessionaire, responsible for the administration of BR-163, will provide an inspection route, tow trucks for light and heavy vehicles, and a tanker truck.

Among the organizations participating in the event are the Federal Highway Police (PRF), Military Police, Environmental Military Police (PMA), State Department of Traffic of Mato Grosso do Sul (Detran-MS), General Coordination of Forensic Sciences, State Civil Defense, and Campo Grande Civil Defense.

Also participating are the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Municipal Transportation and Traffic Agency (Agetran), Mato Grosso do Sul State Environmental Institute (Imasul), Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA), Ambipar Group, Kátia Locatelli Transport, Cappelletto Group, TBG, Casa Militar, and Unimed Campo Grande.
