OBJECTIVE:
To Train operational staff to respond and manage incidents safely, efficiently and effectively.
The 3 day 24 hour course is a practical based course designed for staff with a responsible role within their organisation and who may be required to lead a response team following an oil spill.
The course is very practical based with a range of hands on exercises which are covered by a theory section. The course can be either be held at a training facility or at a suitable location, convenient for the delegates.
Throughout the course there is a complete overview of techniques used to recover, contain and mitigate contamination following an oil spill. The course covers both large and small oil spill events so delegates gain a wide range of knowledge and skill.
The course highlights the benefits of following a contingency plan and looks at how differing climates, shoreline topography, geomorphology and land/marine use can affect a response.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is ideal for Supervisors of response teams that have a responsibility for the management and clean-up of ports, harbours and shorelines in the event of an incident.
