COURSE LOAD: 5 days (40 hours)
DESCRIPTION:
This 40-hour course focus on emergencies involving hazardous materials.
Students will learn:
- Chemistry and toxicology of hazardous materials
- Dangerous properties of chemicals
- Use of detection instruments
- Decontamination
- Selection of use of chemical protective clothing with hands-on practice.
This course meets the training requirement of the NFPA 470 standard, version 2022, Level A, B and C CPC
Trained;“ Chapter 10 of NFPA 472, Chapter 11 of NFPA 1072, OSHA standard 29 cfr. 1910.120 (q)(6)(iii) for Hazardous Materials Technicians and ARTC Programs.
The course is 20% classroom and 80% field work.
