Oil spill

OBJECTIVE:

Provide knowledge to the management team on various oil spill response strategies and plan the practical management of an incident, as well as illustrating the deployment of mitigation and containment equipment for the emergency scenario and developing skills to command a team.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Coordinators, supervisors and leaders who work in port terminals.

PROGRAM CONTENT:

  • Overview of the main causes of oil spills at sea
  • Introduce the forecast of the behavior and destination of the spilled oil
  • Identify the roles of the actors involved in the emergency
  • General knowledge of response tools and equipment
  • Allow students to become familiar with their contingency plan and its function within it
  • Basic understanding of the issues associated with spill response, that is, waste, health, safety and management

COURSE LOAD: 24 HOURS

Requirements: Minimum certification in IMO I and Arrais.
