COURSE LOAD: 3 days (24 hours)
DESCRIPTION:
This 24-hour course is designed to give a hazardous materials
technician the skills and field experience to successfully manage
intermodal tank incidents.
Students will learn:
- Tank construction and intended function
- Damage assessment
- Emergency leak control
- Product transfers and flaring
Field exercises will be used to cement all classroom theory.
The course is 60% classroom and 40% field work.
PRE-REQUISITES:
- Hazardous Materials Technician
- Prior experience or training with highway cargo tanks and railroad
tank cars required
