Tank Car – Specialist
July 29 – August 02

One week course focused on responding to railroad incidents involving tank cars carrying hazardous materials. Students will learn about yard incidents, main line derailments, mixed freight manifest train response and unit train response. Students will learn how 111, 117, 112, 105 and 113 series tank cars function in day-to-day operations as well as in emergencies. We will address damage assessment, leak control, product transfer, flaring, up righting of containers as well as clean and purges.

PREREQUISITES: Hazardous Materials Technician
