The foam generating liquid (LGE) is a synthetic foam concentrate that acts as a kind of detergent to fight class A and B fires, especially in hydrocarbons and polar solvents. Non-toxic, biodegradable, resistant to high temperatures and with a long useful life, it has low density and expansion.

One of the advantages of LGE and that makes it indispensable in combating certain types of fires is that it acts effectively on the surface of the ignited liquid, creating a protective barrier and preventing heated gases from dissipating. Mixed with fresh or brackish water, LGE can be used in equipment with or without air intake.

Types of foam generating liquid

All types of LGE must be approved by ABNT, which certifies their correct functioning and the preservation of the health of people who deal with this substance.

It is possible to find LGEs in dosages of 1, 3 or 6%, which are indicated according to the application. Some are specific for fighting class B fires, while others for polar solvents, hydrocarbons or class A fires.
