São Paulo, October 2024 – Ambipar, a Brazilian multinational and global leader in environmental solutions, which has operational bases for its subsidiary ‘Ambipar Response’ in South America, North America, and Europe, is now establishing its headquarters in one of the largest and most populous continents – Africa. With local partners, the new base is located in Angola (Luanda), and the initial investment announced is approximately US$ 1.5 million.
The company already provides services in the African country remotely through its UK operation, offering training and emergency drills. Now, with the unit in Luanda, Ambipar will focus on industrial services, specializing in height and confined space work, equipment rental, tank maintenance, as well as solutions for environmental emergencies. With certification for handling radioactive waste and trained and certified employees for this high-risk work, the company also addresses cleaning, maintenance, treatment, and painting of naval and industrial tanks, decontamination of tanks and pipelines, platforms, vessels, and industrial plants.
“We are very optimistic about the new unit, as it is already positioned to serve several Oil and Gas companies that are part of our active client base in Brazil, but also operate in Angola. Additionally, it will meet regional demand for this type of solution,” explains Rogério Calderaro, director of Ambipar Response Industrial Services.
Ambipar Response specializes in environmental emergency response, operating in the prevention and response to accidents involving contaminating and hazardous products, firefighting, environmental emergencies, and natural disasters affecting highways, railways, airports, ports, industries, mining companies, or pipelines. It operates in four areas: industrial services (industrial cleaning, repair, and maintenance), maritime services (port support for oil spills, transport, equipment, monitoring, preventive barriers, and emergency bases), environmental services (consulting and environmental analysis), and emergency response (crisis management).
