Neoenergia Pernambuco is preparing the Vale Luz Project, which will take place on Thursday (15), after Carnival. The goal is to receive recycled materials collected by customers or scavengers. It is expected that the days of revelry will generate about 30 tons of recyclables. Customers who gather the products can receive a significant discount on their energy bills.
Through the project, many consumers manage to zero out their bill every month. The waste can be delivered at any of the locations listed below. To participate, customers simply need to bring their energy bill with a photo ID to register on the spot and ensure the discount on the bill.
Scavengers, on the other hand, need to register before Vale Luz with their ID and CPF, bank details, and fill out a declaration confirming they are scavengers. They must go to a Vale Luz service point with their ID, CPF, and bank details to fill out a declaration.
Scavengers working during Carnival can receive payment in cash. For this, they need to register for the project in advance. In 2023, Neoenergia paid over R$ 50,000 to scavengers of aluminum cans and PET, approximately 10% of all grants given by Vale Luz in 2023.
“We will have all our fixed points open on Thursday (15) to welcome participants. We have reinforced our logistics to ensure we can serve everyone. For customers who want to deliver materials during Carnival, they can look for one of our returns machines (see all addresses below) and deposit aluminum cans and PET bottles. All other materials can only be delivered at collection points,” said Artur Costa, Efficiency Supervisor at Neoenergia Pernambuco.
