Ambipar Response provides specialist emergency response services, expertise and equipment to help clean, maintain and improve the UK’s railway infrastructure operated by Network Rail. This includes platforms, stations, public access areas, maintenance facilities, train carriages and over 20,000 miles of track across the UK.

On 7th December 2017, we were called to the 0948hrs Hull Trains service travelling from London Kings Cross to Hull which hit an object on the railway line, causing a rupture to the fuel tank and the train to the ground to a halt between Peterborough and Grantham.

Project Works:

Ambipar Response were initially called upon to clean up the diesel spillage on the track but our team soon found themselves involved in the evacuation of over 200 hundred passengers from the stranded carriages.

Working alongside the emergency services and Network Rail staff, Ambipar’s responders swiftly cleaned up the diesel spillage before assisting passengers down from the stranded train, escorting them safely along the track and onto a relief train that had been requested.

Results:

As a Licenced Waste Carrier providing industry leading nationwide response times onsite within 2, 12 and 48 hours (depending on the nature of the incident) our highly trained response teams support the operation and maintenance of the UK’s railway infrastructure and the health and safety of railway workers and passengers.

All team members are fully trained and qualified to Personal Track Safety (PTS) and Controller of Site Safety, Individual Working Alone and Protection Controller (COSS, IWA, PC) Standards.
