Our client had an ISO-tank that was being returned from a customer in another European country as “empty uncleaned”. The tank was declared as leaking in the port and the port was consequently shut down for a day. Ambipar accompanied the site engineer from the producer to the port to inspect the tank and in discussion with the authorities, It was decided that the only way the tank could be released for transport was to perform a full leak (pressure) test

Project Works:

Ambipar Response sent a specialist response team to the port to work in cooperation with the site engineer; so that the leak test could be carried out in in the presence of a tank inspector from Bureau Veritas. First the tank was vented causing a small amount of fume; enabling the team to install a test gauge. The tank was then pressurised to an agreed setting. The pressure was held at that level for 30 minutes before that tank was declared leak free.

Results:

Working in close cooperation with the terminal, the authorities, inspectors and the customer. The Ambipar team were able to rapidly resolve the situation and the tank as subsequently been returned for a service and full retest.
