This course is designed to train staff who form the cornerstone for the conduct and management of an effective response to a marine HNS spill within their organisation or jurisdiction. This course is targeted at the Manager Level (Administrators and Senior Managers), providing practical training and technical guidance for those responsible for coordinating the preparation for and response to an HNS incident.

The course addresses the key managerial challenges of responding to an HNS incident and is specifically tailored to meet OPRC-HNS requirements.

The course is mostly theory based with a number of exercises which simulate and highlight some of the decisions management staff may face during an HNS spill. As well as covering the executive role during a spill event the course also highlights the many different techniques of HNS response and the outcomes based on past experience.

Delegates are not required to have experience of HNS response situations however must have some knowledge of their industries contingency plan during such an incident.
