The 1 day (8 hours) course can be delivered for either managerial or operational staff to provide basic knowledge to those who will be involved in the response to an oil spill event. The management and operations courses respectively have been tailored to provide an applicable overview for office and field based staff respectively.

The course covers the role of the oil spill responder following an oil spill and the equipment used to either recover the oil or mitigate damage to the environment. The course is mostly class room based with a small show and tell section of response equipment.
