The 4 day (32 hours) course is designed for managers, local government officials, harbourmasters and members of an incident Management team who need to be able to manage and coordinate an oil spill response safely and effectively.

Previous experience in oil spill response is not required as the course covers the essential elements of management, command, control and various outcomes of an oil spill in great detail. This provides the successful delegate with the tools required to manage and coordinate an oil spill response operation.

The course is specifically tailored to meet OPRC International and Domestic legislation requirements, being theory based with worksheet exercises, site visits, and practical response equipment deployment.

Ambipar Response believe an effective contingency plan is crucial during an oil spill response. Within, the theoretical aspect of the course covers how to produce and implement an effective contingency plan, to avoid detrimental effect on the surrounding environment.

Ambipar Response instructors are also able to run delegates through their own regional contingency plans which can then be compared to the plans they interfaced with and implemented during the practical exercises.

On successful completion delegates are awarded with a Nautical Institute accredited OPRC OSR Level 2 Certificate (IMO Equivalent).
