The challenge was to transform waste collectors’ cooperatives into direct suppliers of post-consumer steel to large steel companies.
A complete diagnosis was carried out in hundreds of cooperatives in Brazil and also the connection between cooperatives with large steel companies aiming the direct sale of steel. Through a cloud platform, online monitoring of steel sorting and marketing was carried out.
Through the work carried out in 11 Brazilian states, 50 cooperatives were trained and connected to large steel companies, which generated an increase in income for the cooperative members. The consumer was also engaged in the project, and with the creation of a channel for the correct destination of the material, tons of steel were already sold.
