Certifications show the quality of the processes, the success of initiatives and raise awareness among employees about the importance of following all the standards established by the company

Ambipar was again certified under ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. The audit was carried out in a more complete and careful way, evaluating new sectors and actions, since the company’s growth in recent years. The company already had ISO certifications, but they expired and were renewed through analysis in all departments of the company, directly or indirectly.
Due to Ambipar’s growth in recent years, some new departments and processes were detailed and fully evaluated in the audit. To ensure that all activities were in compliance, the company carried out internal audits.
The ISO 9001 standard refers to the process of customer satisfaction and quality in the delivery of services and products offered. During the audit, it was evaluated whether all sales made actually complied with what each service contract determined, as well as the feedback from the contracting companies.
Standard 14001 refers to the organization’s environmental actions. In this regard, the initiatives and all the information published in Ambipar’s 2020 Sustainability Report were evaluated. The audit analyzed the environmental indicators, the consumption of water and electricity, and whether the actions in favor of sustainability disclosed were actually applied.
ISO 45001, on the other hand, deals with the safety of employees in the company. The audit observed whether training for employees, integration, safety and health standards are properly transmitted and followed by everyone, the mitigation of hazards and risks, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
For Raísa Abdalla, manager of the Quality and Environment department, certifications improve the organization’s processes, the delivery of products and services, and also give national and international prominence to the company. “Obtaining ISO certifications means being a company with internationally recognized processes and actions. In addition, it is extremely important for a cultural change in the behavior of employees, as they become more concerned with complying with the rules, standards and following the processes as required”, she says.
The certifications of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards are valid for three years, and after the first 12 months, the first maintenance is carried out, in which the company’s procedures and initiatives are re-evaluated more superficially. After the third year, full audits must be performed again to recertify the company.
