We are expanding our investment in environmental protection by planting and maintaining 200 million trees by 2030 through the global #AZForest project.
By collaborating with specialized partners and following a scientific approach, we are focused on reforestation, which reinforces climate actions and restores biodiversity, while also providing sustainable livelihoods. We are planting across six continents, with new and expanded projects in Brazil, India, Vietnam, Ghana, and Rwanda, in addition to ongoing projects in Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.
In Brazil, on the 6th, AstraZeneca announced an investment of over R$350 million in the forest restoration of the Atlantic Forest through the AR Corredores de Vida project. The partnership with Biofílica Ambipar Environment and IPÊ – Institute of Ecological Research plans to plant 12 million trees on over 6,000 hectares and generate 400 jobs.
The initiative aims to create ecological corridors through the restoration of native vegetation in the Atlantic Forest and promote connectivity between forest fragments located in the Pontal do Paranapanema region, in the state of São Paulo.
