OBJECTIVE:

The course introduces delegates to preparedness and response requirements for marine spills at ports and hydrocarbon handling facilities. Course covers topics such as: oil spill contingency plans, response strategies, health and safety considerations, and the importance of communication networks when responding to a spill.

Throughout the course, many practical exercises provide delegates with the opportunity to develop the skill sets required to:

  • Undertake site assessments 
  • Identify health and safety issues 
  • Identify environmental, socioeconomic resources 
  • Formulate a work plan and manage with safety in mind

Upon completion delegates will receive an accredited certificate of competence.
