Convenience has become an increasingly prioritized factor for consumers in various markets.

A 2022 Nielsen survey reveals that 80% of people are willing to pay more for products and services that can be acquired efficiently, quickly, and optimized. Another study conducted by McKinsey & Company in 2021 shows that convenience is a priority for customers worldwide.

In this context, Ambipar positions itself as a one-stop-shop— a store that caters to all customer needs— for environmental solutions.

Given the complexity of socio-environmental issues, in the pursuit of sustainable solutions, there are also various services that a company needs to incorporate into its practices to comply with environmental, social, and governance goals. Waste management, manufacturing of high-performance recyclable products, social work in waste picker cooperatives, reforestation, decarbonization— all with responsible certification and neutralization of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

In Brazil, Ambipar’s work as a one-stop-shop for environmental solutions stands out for unifying all these services into solutions that encompass the entire socio-environmental operational cycle of large companies. Companies with long-term ESG plans have well-defined goals but may encounter difficulties in the processes.

It is in this sense that Ambipar works to facilitate the path for companies seeking to develop sustainable practices.

Excellence in circular economy

One of the paradoxes of modern times is that a significant portion of disposable products is made from materials that, after rapid consumption, linger in the environment for decades. Some examples include everyday use items like food packaging, used disposable diapers, and coffee capsules, which pose a challenge to sustainability.

Through acquisitions, Ambipar’s range of services is increasingly expansive. The company’s circular economy sector connects packaging-producing companies with consumers and recycling cooperatives.

Through reverse logistics and the reintroduction of these waste materials into the production chain, it is possible to transform this reality. The circular economy sector aims to assist large companies in managing post-consumption and materials in a more sustainable way. Supported by technology, science, and innovation, the acquisition enhances the development of packaging solutions and products made from Post-Consumer Resin (PCR).

In this context, the company’s efforts have prevented over 131,000 tons of waste from ending up in landfills. Approximately 400 national and international companies are involved, along with over 500 certified waste picker cooperatives providing services in projects developed by Ambipar.

Generation of environmental assets

The recycling rate in Brazil accounted for only about 4% of the 82 million tons of waste generated in the country in 2022, according to the Brazilian Association of Public Cleaning and Special Waste Companies (Abrelpe). This represents around 3.2 million tons.

Ambipar, considering all waste management operations, was responsible for recycling 1.6 million tons in the last year—approximately half of all recycled waste in the country.

It is with this scale of service and performance robustness that environmental problems will be addressed. The decarbonization sector works to generate value for the environmental assets market, combating climate change, protecting biodiversity, and promoting well-being and social development. With projects that promote emissions reduction and carbon sequestration through forest conservation and reforestation.

Four times elected the world’s best developer of forest carbon projects, the company conserves one of the largest forest areas on the planet, with a total conserved area in the Amazon of 2 million hectares and the potential to generate carbon credits around 4 million tons per year.

With operations in over 200 locations in Brazil and a presence in 40 countries, the Ambipar Group has 15,000 trained employees in different areas, ready to offer all the necessary environmental solutions and certifications to ensure sustainability in corporate processes.
