Ambify and the Carbon Credit

When we created Ambify, Ambipar’s carbon offset platform, our intention was to popularize and democratize carbon credit for the population, making it more accessible to everyone, which was previously exclusive to specific business segments. The app, launched in December 2021, seeks to encourage people to care for the environment, as well as the possibility of investing in carbon credits.

Ambify is the only crypto asset in the world that has a robust project backed by its own purpose, the ESG (environmental, social and governance) essence of the token, with internationally recognized certifications and audits, such as Verra, Certik, SGS with the smart contract code on the Blockchain, and with an audited calculator, which make up the hall of reliability and credibility of the project.

All Ambify carbon credits are certified by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Verra’s international certification model, which validates over 70% of the global voluntary market. Our idea is to take the program to the educational level as well, in order to offer, inside and outside the platform, content, information and tips to encourage conscious consumption and help in the current culture about the need to preserve our planet.

For Ambipar, there is no doubt that it is necessary to invest in information to engage more and more people in this cause. We believe that society is maturing and understanding the importance of the subject. We have a generation of people born in the 2000s who see the environment and sustainability differently and who already understand what carbon credit is. In the 1990s, concerns were about plastic disposal, oil in the ocean, whaling. Now, we’re talking about something even bigger, which is keeping our planet as we know it.

The idea of ​​creating an application, based on Ambipar’s reliability and relevance, that promotes the possibility of generating carbon credits for the population came from the need to expand the subject, as well as its environmental importance and increased participation by all. As a direct agent in the generation of continuous carbon credits in forests, agro, energy and circular economy, we realized that bringing it to the market could be a good option to engage other people to do the same.

Compensation is performed using the calculator available on the platform itself, which adds up the carbon footprint and shows how much each action contributes, according to your habits. Ambify’s concern goes beyond the environmental focus, and therefore, to strengthen the pillars of the ESG, the platform allocates 5% of the value, without any discount from the customer and carried out by Ambipar’s own cashier, to social projects of partner institutions in the project, such as Instituto Jô Clemente, Doctor without Borders and Luz Alliance, with customer interaction and choice.

We are going through an era of global awareness about the risks of climate change and the chance that, in the near future, the planet as we know it will not be something we should be concerned about. We need to mitigate this risk, as there is no air for you or mine to breathe. So everyone’s participation is essential.

We have to keep in mind that our actions leave a carbon footprint on the environment.
