Ambify offsets CO2 emissions from the APAS Show 2022 event

Ambify – a company of the Ambipar Group, focused on initiatives and carbon tokenization – will carry out the offsetting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the APAS SHOW 2022 event, which takes place from May 16 to 19, at Expo Center Norte , in Sao Paulo.

105.30 kg of emissions generated by the event’s own activities (pre and post) will be compensated, ranging from energy consumption, displacement of workers to the use of trucks for the assembly and disassembly of equipment, for example.

For the estimation of CO₂ emissions, the Ambify technology was used, which is based on the Brazilian Program of the GHG Protocol and audited by SGS, based on information gathered by representatives of the Associação Paulista de Supermercado. The carbon credits used to offset this event are 80% from hydroelectric plants and 20% from forestry and reforestation, from REDD+ projects.

According to Ambify CEO Felipe Nassar Cury, the common purpose in partnerships like this is compensation and investment in mitigating the risks of climate change. “Through Ambify and its tokenization system, it is possible to compensate people’s business and usual activities. In other words, we have democratized access to carbon credits and with that we contribute to a more sustainable world that increasingly values ​​the environment for future generations”, he concludes.
