Espírito Santo, December 2024 – Ambipar, a global leader in environmental solutions, in partnership with Vale, has installed recycling machines, known as Retorna Machines, in Supermercados BH units located in Jardim da Penha and Jardim Camburi, in Vitória (ES). The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of proper disposal of post-consumer materials, collecting aluminum, steel, Tetra Pak, glass, and PET and PP/PE plastic packaging.
Participants, in addition to contributing to environmental preservation, receive tricoins based on the waste deposited, which generate points that can be exchanged for benefits such as discounts on energy bills, delivery app credits, transportation card recharges, and phone credit.
Ambipar already considers Supermercados BH an important ally for the installation of machines in other units located in Minas Gerais, and now this network has opened its space for this initiative to take place in two supermarkets in Espírito Santo over the course of one year.
“The idea is to engage the population, which is essential in this process, about the proper disposal of post-consumer packaging in a high-traffic location like Supermercados BH, so that these materials can be recycled and reintroduced into the production process,” explains Felipe Nassar Cury, Head of Post-Consumption at Ambipar.
“We are very pleased to be part of this important initiative, which goes beyond environmental commitment by directly involving our customers in transforming waste into valuable resources. The Retorna Machines provide an innovative and accessible solution aligned with our commitment to promoting sustainability and raising awareness about the impact of our actions on the environment,” says Pâmela Gandra, Marketing Coordinator at Supermercados BH.
This initiative is essential to collect and direct waste for recycling, preventing such materials from being sent to landfills and avoiding the use of natural resources for manufacturing new ones. Additionally, it directly supports cooperatives and recycling professionals, promoting local sustainability.
