Ambipar, through the Environment vertical – announces the acquisition of the shareholding control of the company Green Tire Ambiental LTDA, serving the GVR division (Waste Management and Valorization), an arm of the Ambipar Group, focused on the recovery of waste by transforming it into energy . With this acquisition, Ambipar also becomes a business partner of Magnum Tires, a leading company in the import and distribution of tires and inner tubes in Brazil, which serves the entire national territory with a wide network of distributors and its own units.

The acquisition of Green Tire Ambiental aims to strengthen the processes of reverse logistics of waste tires (which are no longer used), with the purpose of replacing energy, carried out through co-processing in cement kilns, which replace petroleum coke. Through specific methodologies and technologies, based on the ESG agenda, such as circular economy and decarbonization, this process provides for the reduction of CO2 emissions, compliance with environmental legislation, as well as its traceability, guaranteeing tire manufacturers and dealers the Certificate of Destination .

“This acquisition allows the company to expand its presence in the northeast region, focusing on reverse logistics, in addition to increasing the offer of solutions for total waste management. In this way, we also contribute to the company’s strategic growth plan, which is adhering to the purpose of promoting a circular economy with a greater geographical presence” – celebrates Hugo Camboim Ferreira da Costa, director of Ambipar Nordeste.

“We have always been committed to strengthening our actions related to the ESG agenda and, therefore, we remain rigorous with the entire post-consumer tire reverse logistics process. The partnership with Ambipar certainly came to expand and further consolidate our performance and commitment to sustainable development, preserving our planet so that future generations can have the resources to provide for their needs” – explains Apolo Vieira, CEO of Magnum Tires.

For the reverse operation of waste tyres, Ambipar has all procedures managed by a waste management software, consisting of seven steps: tracking, collection and weighing, centralization and standardization, report generation, document control, MTR (Waste Transport Manifest) and CDF (Waste Final Disposal Certificate) registration.

The treatment is carried out through the crushing and co-processing in clinker ovens of unserviceable tires in all regions of operation. Co-processing guarantees complete compliance with PNRS, CONAMA 416 and Normative Instruction No. 9 of IBAMA (Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) in terms of the treatment of unserviceable tires.
