Ambipar, a leading multinational company in environmental management, wins an award with the packaging of Biodegradable Collagen Soap, produced in the company’s Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) department, by Centro Brasil Design (CBD), a pioneer in launching Brazilian design award with positive impact, accessible and directed to people, businesses, startups and organizations.
In its 2nd edition, the Design for a Better World Award aims to identify, gather and reward transformative ideas, take them to the world, give voice and visibility to those involved in the creation of new solutions.
Biodegradable Soap
Ambipar’s Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) department developed the Collagen-based sustainable soap. The residue comes from the production of drug capsules from the pharmaceutical industries that were destined for landfills. The product reinforces the circular economy practiced by the company.
“The interesting thing about the soap is that the packaging can be taken directly to the shower, where it melts in an instant, in a rapid degradation of the biofilm in contact with water. Its raw material is innovative and very sustainable, since it is obtained from residual collagen from the pharmaceutical industry”, says RD&I director Gabriel Estevam Domingos.
