Today (17), on International Recycling Day, the company celebrates the collection of over 25 million post-consumer packaging.
Ambipar Triciclo, a subsidiary of Ambipar Group, a pioneering Brazilian multinational in environmental solutions, celebrates its balance on International Recycling Day, established on May 17th by UNESCO to raise awareness in society about the benefits of waste reduction and recycling. The first step to be rewarded in the Triciclo Loyalty Program is to register on the Ambipar Triciclo app and then start depositing recyclables to accumulate tricoins, the program’s currency.
For Ambipar and its businesses, regeneration is also part of its purpose, with the principles of the circular economy serving as pillars: the elimination of waste and pollution, the maintenance of products and materials in use, and the regeneration of natural systems. Ambipar Triciclo demonstrates this purpose through the development of its equipment.
The Retorna Machine is a reverse vending machine (image above) that accepts aluminum, steel, general plastics, long-life packaging, glass, and other recyclable materials. The Recicla Pharma collects packaging from the pharmaceutical sector, as well as expired or unused medications. Finally, the Deixaki, in container format, is designed to collect large volumes and types of post-consumer recyclable materials. All materials collected by the ecopoints are sent to the Ambipar Group for reuse and recycling, generating raw materials, income, and employment opportunities.
The tricoins, generated through the delivery of materials by users, can be redeemed for various social benefits, such as public transportation credits, discounts on energy bills, credits for telecommunications and bookstores, as well as money in digital accounts of partner financial institutions.
“On World Recycling Day, when we look back since the beginning of our operations, we are very proud of what is being built in partnership with our clients and users. After six years of operation, we have collected over 25 million post-consumer packaging, with more than 240,000 active users and an operational park of over 400 ecopoints spread across 14 capitals. With the strength of Ambipar Group, our goal is to have 800 ecopoints in operation by the end of 2023,” says Felipe Lagrotta Nassar Cury, CEO of Ambipar Triciclo Soluções Sustentáveis.
