Countdown to Blockchain Rio Festival, which announced the official schedule of the event and takes place between September 1st and 4th, at Píer Mauá, in Rio de Janeiro.

There will be more than 250 personalities in the line-up at the festival, which aims to be the biggest business hub and promoter of technological education in Brazil and Latin America.

Among the biggest attractions are the Women In Tech LATAM award, which celebrates the outstanding actions of women that impact the global technology segment and the 5th edition of Hacking Rio, the largest hackathon in Latin America.

Also noteworthy were speakers such as the Minister of Science and Technology, Paulo Alvim, the Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, economist Ricardo Amorim, Ernest Young’s Global Blockchain Leader, Paul Brody and Upland CEO Dirk Lueth, the latter two will come to Brazil for the first time.

A global team from the technology, finance, economics and education sectors will bring topics ranging from Blockchain GovBR, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Cryptoassets, Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain Solutions, to the Rise of DAOs and their Regulation, Blockchain Applications in the Area of ​​Health, Energy, Agro and Real Estate Tokenization, Smart Contracts and Legal Developments of the Metaverse.

Blockchain Rio will have three stages


The Principal with capacity for 1,000 people, Blockchain Insider and Blockchain Talks with spaces conducive to meetings that will bring diversity of content and allow participants to have an immersive and transformative experience in the topics under discussion.

In addition, the event has several parallel attractions such as round tables, workshops, panels, hackathon, exhibition area, shows and activations to integrate the public and the themes of technology, education, culture and entertainment.

According to the CEO of BlockchaIn Rio, Francisco Carvalho, the first edition of the event is a stimulus to foster debate and the inclusion of new supporters of emerging technology.

“The Blockchain Rio Festival will present a dynamic mix of pioneering technology with entrepreneurs, academics, authorities who are at the forefront, paving the way in the blockchain and digital assets scenario in Brazil and in the world in different strata of society”, says Francisco.

Women in Tech Award


Presented by journalist Ana Paula Padrão, the Women in Tech Award will announce the names of women impacting technology in 8 categories: Young Aspirants, Disruptive Women, Women’s Ally in Technology, Greater Impact Initiative, Women in Web3.0, Women in Startup Technology, Global Leader, Body of Work.

The winners will be representatives from Latin America in Dubai, at the 5th edition of Women in Tech Global, on October 12, 2022.

Still on the Main Stage, marking its debut in the Brazilian market, Polkadot and Nodle Network bring exclusive content on the use of new technologies in the financial and capitalization market. The latter officially launches, on the last day of the event, the Nodle application, where users are rewarded directly on their smartphones for participating in the network by receiving NODL, the network’s native token, with the connect and earn model.

The Blockchain Insider and Blockchain Talks Stages, as they are smaller in size, will provide greater proximity between audience and speakers, making these spaces ideal for building and deepening debates and discussions.

The event will also host the 5th edition of Hacking Rio, the largest Hackathon in Latin America, which features developers, designers, high school, technical and higher education students, in an exclusive space of 1,300m².

Betting on the hybrid format, in addition to the HR-Experience, the HR-22’s differential is the realization of the programming marathon within a Metaverse environment, developed for the event, combining educational purposes with the main trends in technology.

Metaverse Fashion Summit & ReFi Conference Latam


Another important attraction is the ReFi Conference Latam, in partnership with Impacta Finance, the objective is to bring together companies, projects and people working on environmental and social impact protocols, investors and public managers related to the themes.

In order to spread and make the blockchain universe accessible through education, with lectures, workshops to expand technology through knowledge, Live University’s Blockchain Supply Practices will bring eight hours of content into BlockchaIn Rio Festival, plus another eight hours of a workshop with key insights on Supply Chain 4.0.

For fans of the metaverse, Blockchain Rio performs the Metaverse Experience. The DOMO area will provide an immersive experience in augmented and augmented reality, which simulates the real world, made possible by the evolution of the Internet and Web 3.0.

This is already a technological reality that is changing the universe of brands and the experience of

consumers as it enables communication, community building, shopping and experiences that are much more interactive.

Crypto Social Impact


Blockchain Rio will be completely zero carbon as emissions will be offset to reduce environmental impact. This initiative was made possible in partnership with Ambipar, a leader in environmental management, which takes ecological solutions to make small and large companies sustainable.

The event is also a promoter and supporter of projects that use technology as the main tool for improving quality of life.

Projects such as Educar+, which developed NFTs with children’s drawings to raise funds and Escola da Ponte para Pretxs, which recently, in partnership with Paxful, offered scholarships for young black people to study bitcoin, are some of the projects supported by BlockchaIn. River.

They still join Impacto, Plataforma Impact, Instituto Skate Cuida (ISC) of mega champion and crypto enthusiast Bob Burnquist and Código Brazuca. Hundreds of passports were donated for all these projects to take to the event, not only their students, but also people from the communities where they are part.
