One of the main subsidiaries of Ambipar Group, Boomera is a Brazilian circular economy company focused on transforming tea waste into recycled raw materials. According to knowledge studies on the website, the company ranked tenth globally and first among Brazilian companies in studies related to eco-responsible (“environmentally friendly”) institutions.
B-Lab, a non-profit network that drives the global economy to benefit all, is responsible for creating and validating the B-Corp certification, which assesses corporations worldwide based on the highest criteria of social and environmental performance, transparency, and legal accountability. To achieve the rating, the company must adhere to the principles of the movement, commit to the established control criteria, generate environmental and social advantages, as well as economic benefits.

Boomera has its own methodology, CircularPack, which has already received international awards, such as the popularity from the World Economic Forum and the Schwab Foundation. Thanks to this, the company has managed to divert over 146,000 tons of waste from landfills and dumps, and it has supported more than 8,000 members in collector cooperatives to profit from their projects.
Google’s research also reports that Brazil is the fifth country with the most B-Corp organizations, representing not only a backlog of environmental concerns but also credibility and protection when providing services to customers. Besides the environmental benefits, the assurance of a high level of sustainability and low impact gives qualified corporations a competitive advantage to stand out in the market against their competitors.

And this is reflected in the increasing demand for products, and this can have a genuine impact,” Brammer concluded.
