Braskem, together with Ambipar, seek to leverage their sustainability goals through a partnership.
To encourage the recycling of thermoplastic resins, Ambipar Triciclo and Braskem signed a partnership to promote the conscious disposal of materials.
As a result, all Retona Machines, which is an Ambipar Triciclo technology, now receive polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) packaging.
In principle, this initiative contributes to Braskem’s sustainable development goals.
Since, the company aims to produce 300 thousand tons of thermoplastic resins and chemicals with recycled content by 2025.
Going further, it also aims to produce one million tonnes this way by 2030.
In addition, it works to prevent 1.5 million tons of plastic waste from going to incineration, landfills or deposits.
Fabiana Quiroga, Director of Circular Economy at Braskem, believes that in order to achieve a circular economy, it is essential that consumers are engaged.
Quiroga says: “It is essential that we engage consumers about proper disposal and the importance of recycling”.
Therefore, the company invested in this partnership with Ambipar. “This partnership raises awareness of everyone’s role in building a more sustainable future,” she says.
Also according to the director, the project will contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals, making it generate a positive impact on the production chain.
The materials collected at the Return Machines will be used as raw material in Braskem’s newly opened mechanical recycling plant.
Above all, the plant is located in Indaiatuba (SP), receiving an investment of 67 million and being the result of a partnership with Valoren.
In this way, Braskem company expects to transform, annually, 250 million post-consumer packages made of PP and PE.
These transformations will correspond to 14 thousand tons of high quality recycled resin that will be used as raw material in the transformation industry.
According to the CEO of Ambipar Triciclo, Felipe Nassar, the company’s proposal is to encourage the population to properly dispose of waste.
Nassar explains: “We will make more and more Return Machines available, so we will expand and strengthen the partnership with Braskem”.
Finally, he believes that with Braskem, they will leverage their sustainability goals.
The CEO concludes: “We will attract more people interested in contributing to the preservation of our planet and future generations”.
