With the aim of promoting the experience of visiting UNICEF’s work in the field and understanding the importance of the actions of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the lives of children and adolescents, Rafael Tello, Director of Sustainability at Ambipar, and Daniela Pedroza, CEO of Ambipar VG, and other leaders traveled to Manaus on August 25th and 26th.
During the trip, the leaders had the opportunity to learn about the initiatives carried out by UNICEF in the Amazon, as well as to strengthen relationships and exchange experiences.
UNICEF is a reference in the defense of childhood and adolescence. In Brazil, the organization is present in more than 2,000 municipalities in the Amazon and Semi-Arid regions, as well as in 15 state capitals. Considering that the offices are located in priority areas – the Amazon, Semi-Arid region, and major urban centers – these units are responsible for implementing national strategies, supporting direct service projects, mobilizing civil society and state and municipal governments for the issue of childhood and adolescence, and thus promoting local public policies with high efficiency.
UNICEF’s work in the state of Amazonas aims to provide support to both the local population and refugees and migrants throughout the state. Learn about the priority areas of actions at www.unicef.org/brazil/
