1 billion reais in sustainable debentures issued by Ambipar should finance new acquisitions of companies in the area of waste management, a sector in which the company is a pioneer in the country. “It is seeking to consolidate its operations in this relatively new environment, here in Brazil”, says Enrico Cozzolino, head of analysis and partner at Levante Investimentos.
The papers mature in six years and pay CDI + 2.85% per year, with three annual amortizations starting in the fourth year.
In an interview with the specialized publication Brazil Journal, the financial director of Ambipar, Thiago Silva, said that the company seeks to gain flexibility,
“But we are always on the lookout for growth opportunities and making acquisitions is part of our business. Our pipeline is always full.” The transaction, he added, “has attracted funds looking to invest in bonds with these sustainable commitments.”
