Sweden has republished its civil defense manual, If Crisis or War Comes, which provides guidance for emergencies in the face of potential conflict with Russia and the growing threat of digital disinformation. The guide emphasizes the need to resist fake news offensives, considered as dangerous as physical attacks, and reinforces the concept of Total Defense, mobilizing both military and civilian forces. In addition to preparing households for crises with food, water, and heating, the manual highlights the importance of verifying information through reliable sources, reflecting concerns about global instability and hybrid threats like disinformation campaigns and cyberattacks.
Tampinha Legal Collects BRL 4 Million and 900 Million Caps
The Tampinha Legal program, which collects plastic screw caps for socio-environmental purposes, gathered 900 million units, amounting to over 1,600 tons of recyclable material. The funds generated, exceeding BRL 4 million, were allocated to charitable organizations. Besides promoting the circular economy, the project aims to raise awareness about proper waste disposal, reducing pollution. The initiative, active in various Brazilian states, is supported by the SustenPlást Institute and the Plastic Transforms Movement.
Mercado Livre reported a 26% increase in sustainable product sales across Latin America in 2023, with 4.8 million items sold and 2.7 million consumers choosing more conscious alternatives—a 27% growth compared to 2022. The number of sustainable sellers grew by 9%, reaching 38,000, with Brazil accounting for 43% of these entrepreneurs. Sustainable fashion and energy-efficient appliances led sales, while environmental awareness remains high: 7 out of 10 consumers believe their choices can have a positive impact. The Biomes at a Click program also boosted sociobiodiversity businesses in Brazil, with 96 enterprises selling over 80,000 items.
