Initiative aims to fulfill commitment to the Intermunicipal Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan; four cities in the Textile Polo Region are part of the project.
The Recicla Junto project, conceived by Consimares (Inter-Municipal Solid Waste Management Consortium) in collaboration with Ambipar ViraSer, aims to increase the number of cooperatives in the region with the goal of expanding the amount of recycled waste. A meeting scheduled for 9 AM this Tuesday, at the auditorium of Ambipar Group’s headquarters in Nova Odessa, will provide detailed information about the action plan that will be adopted.
The consortium brings together seven cities, with four in the Textile Polo Region: Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Nova Odessa, Sumaré, and Hortolândia. Among these, only the cooperative “Juntos Somos Fortes” in Santa Bárbara is aligned with the company’s methodology – which places a significant emphasis on formalizing workers within cooperatives.
“We call this Humanized Circular Economy, because we take these professionals who were previously invisible, operating informally, and formalize their status. Through formalization, we bring traceability and ensure that there is no child or slave labor,” explained Maíra Pereira, CEO of Ambipar ViraSer.
“A framework for new cooperatives will be presented so that we can achieve a higher recycling rate in the region, in accordance with the commitment to the Intermunicipal Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan,” she added.
The project is part of three other initiatives by Consimares, which involve promoting composting processes for fertilizer creation in partnership with Coden (Nova Odessa Development Company), recycling construction waste, and establishing recycling plants – which convert waste into energy – in the cities participating in the consortium.
“These are four complementary projects. It’s the comprehensive management of all types of waste conducted by Consimares. With this meeting, the actions are starting to move from theory to practice,” said Consimares President Mauricio Baroni.
According to Maurício, Consimares has been trying to attract Americana and Limeira to join the consortium before initiating the bidding process for the plants.
