Senate approves bill creating carbon market; Treasury estimates GDP to be 5.8% higher by 2040

The Senate approved on Wednesday (13) the bill that creates the carbon market and authorizes the federal government to set limits on greenhouse gas emissions in the country.

The objective is to require companies that pollute above a certain threshold to pay for it, encouraging a sustainable shift in the economy.
