With the Sustainable Corridor project, Ambipar intends to replace 100% of its logistics fleet with vehicles powered by renewable fuels and clean sources by 2040.
Ambipar, a Brazilian multinational leader in environmental management, takes an important step in combating climate change and fulfilling its decade-long ambition to lead the transition to a low-carbon, circular economy.
The Sustainable Corridor Project is an Ambipar action that brings safe and intelligent mobility to chemical product transport operations for Dow. The initiative is in line with the companies’ ESG strategies and the objective of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) in their operations.
With the structuring of a route operated with the majority use of CNG, Ambipar contributes to the decarbonization of its activities and its customers and demonstrates to the market and society alternatives so that the Brazilian logistics segment can implement an energy transition that, by taking advantage of characteristics and national energy options, be able to reduce emissions in the sector more quickly.
With the expected initial investment of R$ 30 million, Ambipar integrates Scania R 410 6X2 trucks with natural gas (CNG) technology into its fleet. In the first year of circulation of the new trucks, Ambipar estimates a 20% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the Corridor.
