The #TOGETHERBAND campaign, by BOTTLETOP, joins forces with the Yawanawá, a Brazilian indigenous community living in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, to create a range of accessories produced sustainably, unisex, and vegan, made from açaí seeds, a natural product obtained from the collection of the famous fruit used to make juice for the tribe.
With a launch scheduled for this Friday (April 22), which is globally celebrated as Earth Day, and sales available throughout Brazil through the Shop2Gether e-commerce platform, the timeless collection of bracelets and necklaces serves as a powerful symbol for indigenous peoples, our true guardians of the natural world, supporting them in climate action and the protection of our forests. “The açaí fruit is very special to our people. We use the seeds to create jewelry. We are partnering with #TOGETHERBAND to create the Yawa bracelet as a symbol of hope for the future of the Forest and our community. With this bracelet, we can preserve the cultural heritage and craftsmanship of our community and provide sustenance for our people. Help us protect Mother Nature. Help us protect our home,” says Tashka Yawanawá, chief of the Yawanawá.
The seeds are hand-painted and woven into plastic thread collected from the ocean. The bracelets are available in natural, black, green, red, blue, and a special multicolored edition featuring each of the 17 colors representing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The necklaces come in two different lengths and are produced in natural, black, and a special multicolored edition. Each product features a unique Humanium Metal seed mold, which is recycled from illegal and deactivated firearms confiscated from the streets of Central America. This way, the production of the recycled metal helps to end armed violence and rebuild societies devastated by conflicts.
The campaign comes at a time when indigenous peoples in the Amazon are fighting against legislation aiming to open indigenous lands to exploitation through various bills. Empowering indigenous communities to protect their natural ecosystems and biodiversity is crucial for all of us in the fight against climate change and has become a mission for #TOGETHERBAND. “I had the privilege of spending time with the Yawanawá community in Brazil and saw firsthand how they care for and protect the rainforest. However, they need our support to help secure their lands, which are currently at risk of being taken away from them. This partnership will not only enable the community to thrive and achieve their goals, but also allow them to protect the lungs of the planet,” says Cameron Saul, co-founder of #TOGETHERBAND.
This launch marks the third year of the global #TOGETHERBAND campaign, officially started on April 22, 2019. At this moment, it has more partners helping spread this important and urgent message. The first partner is the Brahma Nº1 VIP Box, which will provide its space at Marquês de Sapucaí starting this weekend to showcase the initiative for the second consecutive year. The connection between the event and the campaign was made possible by Cross Networking, a company of Holding Clube, with the aim of accelerating and promoting greater visibility for the action’s goals during the three-day activation of the event. “We strongly believe in partnerships like this, and for a project of the size of the VIP Box, we couldn’t miss this opportunity. More and more, we want to foster meaningful exchanges that make a difference for society, the environment, and the world as a whole, and partnerships are very favorable for that,” highlights Tatianna Oliva, managing partner of Cross Networking, a business accelerator through partnerships, and a company under the Holding Clube umbrella in the market.
The #TOGETHERBAND movement also has the support of Ambipar, a leading Environmental Management company, which is an institutional supporter and signatory of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the UN Global Compact. “Ambipar contributes to making companies and society more sustainable. To help us with this challenge, we established a long-term partnership with the Brazil Network of the Global Compact so that we can drive the ESG agenda in favor of the SDGs. #TOGETHERBAND is a relevant initiative, as it is made from recycled material by communities living in harmony with nature. The income obtained from its sale is directed towards projects in the Amazon, which is also of great interest to us. Ambipar encourages a circular economy with low carbon impact, and we take this moment to shed light on the Sustainable Development Goals,” comments Rafael Tello, Sustainability Director at Ambipar.
The BOTTLETOP accessory collection for #TOGETHERBAND starts at R$150 and will be available at www.shop2gether.com.br from this Friday, April 22. By supporting the Yawanawá community and helping them achieve their goals, BOTTLETOP, #TOGETHERBAND, Brahma Nº1 VIP Box, Ambipar, and the UN Global Compact hope to increase awareness about the struggles faced by indigenous communities and provide a sustainable livelihood in the long term.

The #TOGETHERBAND campaign was launched on Earth Day 2019 by the sustainable accessory brand BOTTLETOP in partnership with the UN and UBS. It uses creativity and culture to raise public awareness about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and inspire action to achieve them. The campaign has created a global community of active citizens with a reach of 5.4 billion people, connected through sustainable fashion, contemporary art, music, and audiovisual media. Ambassadors include figures such as David Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Halima Aden, Lewis Hamilton, and Jameela Jamil. Each #TOGETHERBAND bracelet is made from recovered Parley Ocean Plastic, recycled deactivated firearms metal, and handcrafted by artisans in Nepal, creating skills and livelihoods for local women.
The Yawanawá, known as the people of the Javali, are an indigenous community in the state of Acre, Brazil. They live in harmony with their surroundings through centuries of observation and interaction with nature, subsistence economy, and spiritual connection to their lands and territories. They ensure the balance of the Amazon Rainforest so that it continues to provide water, fertile soil, food, shelter, and medicines.
For hundreds of years, they have survived outsiders who stole their lands and resources, were enslaved, and had their customs and natural livelihoods taken away from them.
Their ancestral land was finally demarcated in the 1980s by the Brazilian government, legally defining their territory. However, threats are far from over with the introduction of bills PL490/2007 and PL191/2020, which will take away their land rights and leave the Amazon at risk of being burned and destroyed.
