Understand the definition of scrap and recycling and learn how to adhere to this system
In Brazil, sustainable production is very practiced. With a focus on material renewal to produce new raw materials and resins, this strategy has several systems and compartments presupposed for production. Scrap and recycling, for example, are processes and materials that complement each other and are part of this sustainable system that is so important for the planet.
Complementing each other, scrap and recycling are the basis of sustainable production. Scrap, by definition, is any discarded material, waste or product that no longer serves the purpose for which it was designed. We can cite as an example plastic bottles that are not viable for reuse, electronic products, PVC parts, aluminum parts, among others.
Recycling is the name given to the subsequent scrap collection process. Made based on the use of scrap for the production of a new raw material or resin, recycling results in the production of countless new products, such as plastic bottles and bags, steel, clothing, etc.
However, this production system only works thanks to a large existing gear that starts with the collection of scrap made by recycling companies. This action occurs in different ways, as sometimes the waste is collected directly from the company or residence and other times, not to mention the majority, in recycling centers. After this process, the recycling companies sort the materials, a process that consists of separating and distinguishing each material. With the separation carried out, the material is pressed and sent for sale.
