The National Solid Waste Policy – PNRS Law No. 12,305, of August 2, 2010 is a federal law in Brazil that establishes guidelines for solid waste management in the country.
The PNRS regulates the proper management of solid waste, reducing negative environmental impacts and promotes shared responsibility between government, industries and society in waste management, contributing to the construction of a more sustainable society.
Here are some of the main points that should be audited in the National Solid Waste Policy:
Ambipar Certification is accredited as a Certification Body (OCP) by the General Coordination of Accreditation (CGRE) of Inmetro, being able to grant the Green Seal to companies from different sectors. This seal attests that the institution has complied with the legislation — including the requirements of the National Policy on Solid Waste (PNRS) — and that it may have waste recovery and circular economy practices.
