Ambipar, a leader in environmental management, acquired yet another emergency service company, this time SABI Tech, which is the market leader in Colombia. With the acquisition, the Company now has 14 bases strategically located on the main routes and in points with a history of accidents in the country.

SABI has been operating for 17 years in the provision of services focused on responding to environmental emergencies in the road modal. It also has a risk management system and full tracking of trucks with on-board high technology, in which it is also the market leader, with 55% of the Market Share. It also has 61 checkpoints for trucks or drivers, strategically located on the main Colombian highways. The acquired company had revenues of US$4.3 million in 2020.

According to Ambipar’s Investor Relations Director, Fábio Castro, the acquisition of SABI Tech geographically expands the company’s presence in South America, achieving greater capillarity. “The company brings us differentiated fleet management and monitoring technology that can be used worldwide by Ambipar and offered to customers globally. As a result, we generate operational and administrative synergies, in addition to cross-selling opportunities. This is yet another acquisition in line with the strategic growth plan, capturing synergies and potentially maximizing margins and returns,” he says.

The SABI Tech acquisition is the third focused on the Response segment in the past two weeks. Ambipar acquired the remaining 50% of Suatrans Chile, gaining full control of emergency response services in South America. The company also strengthened its presence in North America with the purchase of 100% of EMS Environmental, reaching 3 new states: New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina in the United States.

Ambipar’s global expansion plan has already taken emergency services to 16 countries in South America, North America, Antarctica, Africa, and Europe, through organic growth and M&A, making the Response segment a global reference in the sector. In total, this is the 16th acquisition after the IPO.
