On Wednesday, September 13, BR-381 was the stage for a simulated accident involving a dangerous goods cargo. The scenario was a three-vehicle pileup. One of them was a tanker truck carrying flammable liquid, leaking due to the collision. The other two were cars with victims, one trapped in the wreckage, another ejected from the vehicle, and one in a mild condition.

The objective of the simulation is to gather specialists, integrate, and train teams so that in situations of this nature, they know the best way to conduct the response, ensuring user safety, traffic flow agility, and preserving their physical integrity.

Press and invited guests present were able to follow the entire process of a real accident occurrence. As part of the process, the event involved the participation of the response teams from Arteris Fernão Dias, BR-Vida, Federal Highway Police (PRF), Fire Department (COBOM), the environmental solutions group Ambipar, NEA, and IBAMA. One of the highlights was the participation of the PRF aircraft, which relocated one of the seriously injured victims for emergency medical care.

For the success of the simulation, in addition to the work and harmony of the Arteris Fernão Dias team, partnerships such as with the carrier Transpedrosa were crucial. “With the entire process carried out, it was possible to perceive the importance of agility in the response of the entire team, from the first call to the arrival of the response vehicle. A second makes all the difference when we talk about valuing life,” emphasizes Operations Manager Edivaldo Braga.

The Operational Control Center (CCO) is the base of operations during an accident. It is essential for the progress of actions and resolution of the scenario. In the simulation, the user requested support from the concessionaire by phone. After registration, the request was forwarded to the CCO, which directed an operational vehicle to the location and positioned the monitoring camera to follow the occurrence. In addition to 0800, in the event of an accident, information about occurrences can reach the concessionaire through the CCTV system or inspection of operational vehicles.
