On September 21, BrazilFoundation, a philanthropic institution that mobilizes resources to invest in actions that transform Brazil, will hold its 20th Gala edition at The Plaza Hotel in New York. Approximately 350 guests are expected, representing the business world, media, diplomacy, thought leadership, and artistic sectors.
The event, sponsored by Ambipar, aims to raise funds to support civil society organizations (CSOs) that promote race and gender equity, socio-environmental justice, and improvements in education – the foundations of balanced social, economic, and environmental development.
In its 23 years of operation, BrazilFoundation has already invested US$ 45 million, benefiting more than 850 organizations in 290 Brazilian cities.
The first dancer of the “Dance Theatre of Harlem,” Ingrid Silva, and presenter Pedro Andrade will lead the evening, honoring and recognizing the work of Rachel Maia, who will receive the Sustainable Development Goals Award, Dona Lia Aguiar, as Philanthropy Leadership, the Amazon Sustainable Foundation (FAS), as Social Leadership, and Dr. Diva Moreira, who will receive the Human Rights Award from BrazilFoundation.
Flavia Alessandra, BrazilFoundation ambassador, and Otaviano Costa will host the auction with the support of auctioneer Fabio Zukerman in the bidding for the lots.
The show will be presented by Baby do Brasil, who, after a long season with the Novos Baianos and shows alongside Pepeu Gomes, now celebrates her 50-year career and will bring her greatest hits to The Plaza. The after party will be led by DJ Marina Diniz, who promises to liven up the dance floor.
