Over 7,000 units have already been produced for gradual replacement at sales points.

Bob’s, in partnership with Ambipar Boomera, a company specialized in Reverse Logistics and Circular Engineering solutions, has developed exclusive raw materials made from 100% recycled materials for the production of sustainable trays. These trays will be made available at fast-food outlets across Brazil.

This innovation follows the brand’s strategy of investing in sustainable practices, which encompass all areas of the company and include initiatives such as renewable energy, waste management, recyclable packaging, 100% biodegradable straws, and the expansion of the Bob’s Institute’s activities.

“The production of over 7,000 trays connects approximately 380 cooperatives throughout Brazil, impacting more than 8,000 waste pickers,” says Marcelo Batista, Supply Chain Director at Bob’s.

The product development stages initially involved the engagement of partner cooperatives of Ambipar Boomera in the sorting of materials destined for landfills. With this selection, the company created a resin for the production of the new products, resulting in Bob’s trays.

“The project with Bob’s was challenging as it transformed packaging considered difficult to recycle into products that will return to the ecosystem in a sustainable manner,” explains Guilherme Brammer, founder of Boomera and head of circular economy at Ambipar Group. The current trays will be gradually replaced according to their lifecycle and will be recycled.
